Let me start by saying I HATE retractable leashes. If you train with me and your dog is on one don’t be offened when I remove it and attach a standard leash. Keep control of your dog! Don’t allow your dog to go bulldozing up to people or other dogs because ‘oh he is perfectly friendly’. There are many people out there, myself included, with a nervous or reactive dog. We are working really hard with them and an out of control dog ruins it!
