Trainer Thought/Tip Thursday: I hear plenty of times that an owner’s dog doesn’t come when called. A strong recall command has many benefits, but we can talk about that another time. Here is a tip for working on your recall command. Always be happy when your dog comes to you, whether you called him or not. Never punish your dog when he comes to you, no matter what he did before. Call him in a happy, playful tone and reward big when he gets to you, with treats, a toy, or praise.
